Jelavic planning to be Rangers icon just like Prso

Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic says he wants to make just as big an impression at the club as fellow countryman Dado Prso.

The 25-year old Croatian has been a massive hit at Ibrox this season, netting 16 goals since his move from Rapid Vienna last summer.

Now he wants a prolonged stay at the club and is hoping to emulate Prso who was a force for 'Gers between 2004 and 2007.

"I love it in Glasgow, maybe this is not the prettiest town in the world but I have found my peace here and also a great passion to play football," he told Jutarnji List.

"Being a Rangers player is such a privilege.

"The Premier League? There are talks about this, I'm reading about interest from Aston Villa but my main goal is to one day be like Dado Prso.

"I want to be an icon as he was here."
