Jelavic departure doesn't mean we will win the title - Celtic's Rogne

Celtic defender Thomas Rogne does not necessarily believe that the Scottish title is theirs following the departure of Nikica Jelavic.

The Croatian striker departed Old Firm rivals Rangers for Everton on deadline day but Rogne says the Hoops, one point clear on top of the table, are not going to be complacent now the league's leading scorer has left.

"I don't know if everyone assumes Celtic are going to win the league now that Jelavic has gone to another country but there's been a lot of talk about it," he said.

"These things happen in football. Teams sell their best players and then others step up to the plate. Rangers are always going to be a good side and I don't expect anything special to happen.

"Rangers have sold their top goalscorer and that happens. He's gone and I don't really care too much about that.

"I don't know what kind of figure he was at Rangers but he's never been a Celtic player so I don't care what happened with him. But I won't say I'm mad about it.

"I don't know if they've got some other squad players who can step up and score the same amount of goals Jelavic did but they didn't have him last weekend and they beat Hibs 4-0."
