Jeff Larentowicz agrees new Colorado Rapids contract

The Colorado Rapids announced on Friday that the club has re-signed midfielder Jeff Larentowicz, a member of Rapids' 2010 MLS Cup-winning team and United States National Team player, to a multi-year contract.

"Jeff has been an incredibly important part of this team since he joined us before the 2010 season," said Rapids Technical Director Paul Bravo. "We needed his strong play and leadership to win the MLS Cup, and the United States National Team has also seen his value. We're thrilled that he'll continue in our midfield for years to come."

"I'm extremely happy to stay here and be a part of this club for many years in the future," said Larentowicz. "I think that [as] you get comfortable with the league, you understand what it takes, you understand what your teammates are expecting of you, and you step up and fill that [leadership] role."
