Jedinak lands Crystal Palace top player prize

Mile Jedinak has been named Crystal Palace's Player of the Season.

The 28-year old Australian midfielder has landed the Eagles' best player award for season 2012/13 after a brilliant season as skipper of the South London club.

Jedinak was praised by Palace boss Ian Holloway for the leadership and guidance he brings to the line-up as the club prepares for the Championship playoff semi-finals against Brighton & Hove Albion.

"It's hard to put into words what this man brings to our club. Have I seen anyone like him in my time? No," the manager told the club's official website.

"I totally believe he will lead us, with the other lads, to an unbelievable end to this season.

"We are desperate to give these fans a place at Wembley and to win there."

Jedinak, who beat the Championship's leading scorer Glenn Murray, added: "It's been a real tough season I can say that safely. A rollercoaster, but one that I've thoroughly enjoyed.

"To be recognised in this way is a huge honour."
