West Ham winger Matt Jarvis believes the scoreless draw against Premier League champions Manchester City at the weekend has boosted the confidence of the squad.
Sam Allardyce's side face a tough run of fixtures between now and the new year, meeting Newcastle, Manchester United, Chelsea, Everton and Arsenal before January.
"We have a tough run coming up but this will give us a fantastic boost," Jarvis said.
"I think it shows we can hold our own against sides like this and, at the same time, try to get something out of the game for ourselves.
"We defended well and like to think we stopped them playing how they can, rather than it being a poor display from City.
"We go to Newcastle now with the same appetite to get something from that game as well, to keep our good start to the season on track."
