Wolves winger Matt Jarvis is well aware he has to work extremely hard to first get into the starting line-up and work even harder to remain there.
The 25-year old replaced Adlene Guedioura at half-time of the Molineux outfit's 3-1 win over Wigan Athletic and was pleased with his performance but he knows he has to do even better to get back into Mick McCarthy's eleven.
"I was pleased to get on and play 45 minutes and get back to what I do best," said Jarvis. "That's trying to supply the team with opportunities to score.
"No one likes not playing but there is some great competition for places here. You've got to work hard to get into the team and, once you're in there, work even harder to stay there.
"I just wanted to go out and get back to the form that I know I am capable of and put my stamp down on the game.
"It's been hard the last few weeks for all of us. But to get back to it and have a good 45 minutes and help the team to a much-needed win is a great confidence-booster for me."
