Tottenham are on the brink of a deal for Espanyol defender Dani Jarque.

The Times says Jarque is believed to have flown to London last night to hold talks with Tottenham.

The 25-year-old Espanyol defender has missed the past four matches with a toe injury. Jarque would become the first significant arrival at White Hart Lane since Juande Ramos took over as head coach in late October.
