Jarosik leaves Celtic for Russia's Krylya Sovetov

Jiri Jarosik has left Celtic for Russia's Krylya Sovetov.

The 30-year old, who previously had a spell in Russia with CSKA Moscow and has also played for Chelsea and Birmingham, has joined the Samara club on a two-year contract.

Celtic are believed to be receiving around £745,000 for letting the Czech player leave Parkhead.

"It's not easy to leave because I like Glasgow and Scotland in general," Jarosik told Sport Express. "But Russia has its charms and players don't often spend their whole careers in one place.

"In Samara they are creating a new and ambitious side that don't want to be playing second fiddle.

"I'm hoping my experience will prove useful to the team."

Krylya coach Leonid Slutsky has admitted he previously tried to sign Jarosik while coach of another Russian side, FC Moscow, and told the club's official website: "Jarosik is a player of the highest level.

"He has played for the best clubs in Europe and a leading role at CSKA, which says everything about the standard he has reached."
