Japanese youngster Masashi Wada has been trialling with Manchester City.
Wada is on the books at Yokohama F Marinos, which were recently bought out by City.
Academy chief Mark Allen said: "He's settled in very well and he's done very well in the training sessions.
"It's the reverse of what we're trying to do with a lot of our lads in terms of taking them on European games and giving them that experience of travel, different time zones, different culture so he's had to cope with all of those which I'm sure can only help him.
"We can help them, if they're going to play in the Premier League, they'll have to improve whether it's tactical, technical, physical," Allen added on the club's official website . "Usually they are technically very good and Wada falls into that category.
"It's part of the development then to look at what would make him a Premier League player".
