Japan skipper Hasebe thrilled to join Kiyotake at Nurnberg

Makoto Hasebe is thoroughly excited about the next phase of his career with FC Nurnberg.

The 29-year old Japan national team captain was unveiled as Der Club's newest signing on Thursday following his move from Bundesliga rival VfL Wolfsburg and he is looking forward to teaming up with Blue Samurai teammate Hiroshi Kiyotake in midfield.

"The atmosphere in the stadium is fantastic and I'll give everything for Der Club," said Hasebe. "I'm just delighted to be here.

"Kiyo[take] has been informing me all about the club and the fans. I've only heard positive things from him."

Nurnberg manager Michael Wiesinger added: "Makoto will bring his leadership qualities and footballing abilities to us immediately.

"He'll bring us plenty of important things, on and off the field, and improve us as a club."

Hasebe is expected to make his Nurnberg debut when the Bavarian club head to Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend.
