Japan national team manager Alberto Zaccheroni says he will not ponder a possible job with Italy until after this year's World Cup.
The 60-year old Italian is being heavily linked with the Azzurri role at the culmination of the June/July tournament in Brazil with current manager Cesare Prandelli expected to step down.
Reports are suggesting that former AC Milan, Lazio, Inter Milan, Torino and Juventus boss Zaccheroni could depart his job with the Blue Samurai in order to take up a dream position with his nation when the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC) come calling but he is remaining calm about that possibility.
"I'll wait until the end of the World Cup and I will decide based on what proposals arrive," he told Sport Mediaset.
"I don't even know when this call could arrive. Until now, anyway, nobody from Italy has called me.
"My intention is to decide (on my future) in July, not that I know if others can wait until that time."
Zaccheroni took charge of the Japanese team in 2010, replacing Takeshi Okada, and has gone onto guide the Blue Samurai to victory at the 2011 Asian Football Confederations (AFC) Asian Cup and the 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup as well as into the finals of the Brazil World Cup.
