Japan manager Alberto Zaccheroni is confident that Keisuke Honda will be a hit in Italy.
The Blue Samurai playmaker will officially join AC Milan on January 1, when his contract with CSKA Moscow expires, and his national team boss believes he has what it takes to be a success in Serie A.
And Zaccheroni is well-versed to pass judgement after spending the better part of three decades managing in his homeland of Italy.
"I'm convinced that he is a player who will be admired. He is physically strong, has excellent technique and great personality," the former Rossoneri boss told Radio Anch'Io Lo Sport.
"I was in charge of Milan for three years and I know how much a player's character is important in such a setup."
He added that Honda will benefit from playing the second half of the European season with Milan as Japan prepares for the 2014 World Cup.
"He will need these months before the end of the season to prepare in the best way for the World Cup," he said of the 27-year old.
