Japan has moved up to number 26 in the world in the latest FIFA rankings for March.
The Blue Samurai managed to shift up two positions from February's standing of 28th in the world to retain their number one billing in Asia.
Behind Japan is Australia who find themselves down to 39th overall after slipping down two spots behind the likes of Paraguay, Bolivia, Zambia, Serbia, Algeria and the USA.
Third in the Asian rankings comes the Korea Republic (47th overall) who are followed by Iran (57), Uzbekistan (59), Jordan (90), Iraq (94) and Qatar (98).
The biggest movers in Asia were Afghanistan, up 48 places to 141 overall and 21st in the region, whilst China PR slipped 13 spots to 109 in the world and 13th in Asia.
