Takayuki Morimoto's debut for the Japan national team may be put on hold because of injury.

The Catania striker has been in brilliant form at club level, earning a call-up from Blue Samurai coach Takeshi Okada last week but he is now in doubt for the friendly against Holland this Saturday, September 5.

Okada was unsure if the 21-year old would be available, telling Japanese reporters: "I am not sure at this point if Morimoto can join us.

"He felt something strange in his thigh."
