Ex-Chelsea star Craig Burley believes Cesc Fabregas could leave the club in January.

The 31-year-old is being lined up by AC Milan. He has yet to feature for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, although that is because of injury.

Even still, the plethora of midfielders at Maurizio Sarri's disposal means Fabregas may find it tough to get his way back in. And Burley thinks he could leave in the winter transfer window.

"This is one actually dependent on how Chelsea go this year that I could see maybe happening in January," Burley said.

"We've been talking about Fabregas going away for a little because he is becoming more of a squad player.

"That's understandable because the legs don't propel him around anymore."
