Sunderland defender Jan Kirchhoff is adamant they're good enough to stay up.
Life at the bottom of the table is not something a former Bayern Munich footballer is accustomed to but Kirchhoff is relishing the challenge.
“It's definitely different but I had the same situation at Mainz in my early career so it is nothing new," he said.
“I need to get used to English football and my team-mates but I am feeling good.
“I think we have quality in this team so despite our position, this is a good place for me to be.
“Sunderland have had a hard season but we saw what we are capable of against City when we could have got a point or even won.
“If we put that intensity into every game, we will stay in the league and will have no trouble to beat the teams at the bottom."
