Jamie O'Hara admits Wolves players are shocked by the sack chants for manager Mick McCarthy.
O'Hara, a £3.5m summer buy from Spurs, said it would be suicidal to sack McCarthy and hopes his point-saving goal has taken the heat off his boss.
He said: "It's too early to be thinking about playing to keep the manager in his job. I know we'd lost five on the bounce, but there are 29 games to go and it would be kamikaze to think like that.
"Everyone has got to stick together and, if anyone was getting twitchy about the manager's future, I hope my goal has stopped all that talk because he's done wonders for my career. The gaffer threw me a lifeline and I'd hate to see him leave.
"We know we've got to start picking up points at home, but this might be the game where we turn the corner."
