Jamie Ness is hoping to win over Stoke City manager Mark Hughes in preseason.
The young defender has completed an impressive loan with Leyton Orient.
He said: "It was a bit of a cultural shock going down to London, but I settled down well and managed to play quite a few games.
"It's definitely been beneficial for my progress. It gave me the chance to improve my match awareness and fitness levels, so I'm certainly glad I made the move.
"Now I need to make an impression on the manager and force my way into the Stoke team."
