QPR striker Jamie Mackie is excited about the squad now being built at Loftus Road.

Mackie has only appeared fleetingly since the club's promotion due to serious injury, but believes the squad have what it takes to succeed - especially thanks to their summer signings.

"Last season a lot of new players came to the club and we all gelled so we had a good base for the new lads to come in this season," he said.

"All they have done is add to the quality we already had in the team and given us a boost now to kick on the Premier League.

"Those lads have played in the Premier League for a long time, the likes of Joey Barton and Shaun Wright-Phillips. They are top players."
