James Rodriguez admits he wants to "play more" for Real Madrid.

James often found himself on the bench during a disappointing season last term, and coach Zinedine Zidane is said to have doubts over his first-team role.

However, he told Caracol TV: "I hope to be able to play more.

"I want to have a good season and perform to a high level."

James is scheduled to join Madrid's pre-season preparations in Canada on Tuesday.
