James Perch is happy to stay with Newcastle United.

The defender knows there's no first team guarantees for him next season.

But a source close to the player told The Journal: "James is very happy at Newcastle and the fans really seem to have taken to him.

"Of course things change quickly in football but he is happy and the club seem happy with him. If the club get into Europe they will need a big squad."
