Everton midfielder James McCarthy is convinced they can challenge for Europe this season.
McCarthy signed for Everton on deadline day from Wigan Athletic.
He told evertontv: "I was sitting at home and obviously there were phone calls. Once I knew that Everton were interested there was no going back - I wanted to come here, establish myself and get some games under my belt. To be honest, I was speechless and I'm just delighted to be here.
"I think as a club its got everything going for it. I think we can push top-six at least."
