James: Give Portsmouth job to Kidd

Portsmouth goalkeeper David James says he'd give the manager's job to new first team coach Brian Kidd.

He said: "If one game was something to go by, then we'd sign Paul (Hart) and Brian for a couple of years.

"The reality is it is the board's decision. Whoever takes over, it has to be the right people.

"It sounds an obvious statement to make, but you look at someone like Kiddo who has worked with England and he is the same person.

"He was talking about what he had done and how you work with individuals to get improvement.

"It's better that than someone coming in with something outlandish and slightly bizarre.

"It's a view which works - you can see that already."
