Portsmouth goalkeeper David James admits he's risking his World Cup place by making himself available for Sunday's FA Cup semi against Tottenham.
James has also admitted he put his World Cup hopes on the line by rushing himself back too early after undergoing a knee operation in the summer.
The former Liverpool star, who has missed 11 of Pompey's 33 Premier League games, said: "Sunday is about Portsmouth and has got nothing to do with anyone else. In the back of my mind I want to be playing at the World Cup.
"I am a little bit annoyed about this season that I was not able to get on top of the calf injury. I love playing and cannot stand not being involved but with hindsight maybe with another week's rest I would not encountered the problems I have.'
Portsmouth's hopes of repeating their 2008 triumph have also been boosted by Steve Finnan, Kevin Prince Boateng and Nadir Belhadj returning to training yesterday.
James said: "We have a lot of players back and should have a strong team out."
