Jackett delighted with new Man City role

Kenny Jackett is delighted with his promotion at Manchester City from reserve-team boss to assistant coach.

"It's typical of what you expect in football," he told City's website.

"Firstly there was an ownership change and then obviously a managerial change. The people that have come in have been first class to myself and are very good people to work with."

Despite managing first Watford, then Swansea for a total of over 300 games, Kenny hopes to use the vast experiences of Sven-Goran Eriksson and his backroom staff as he steps up from reserve team coach to a first team role in the temporary absence of Hans Backe.

Jackett observed: "They're very experienced people who I can learn off. The track record of the people running the Club now is very good.

"It'll be very interesting to learn from them."
