Jack Colback has no problem battling for a start in Sunderland's crowded midfield.

Colback is one of eight midfielders who have featured for the Black Cats this season, with only team mate Stephane Sessegnon appearing more times.

He told safc.com: "The manager has got a lot of options in midfield this year.

"When you drop out of the team it is always going to be tough to get back in.

"I think that's the going to be the case all season, especially in midfield - players are going to be in and out of the team and you just have to deal with it."

He continued: "Going out of the team and to then to try and get back in is always that little bit harder, but I keep my head in the game and try and perform well in training and do enough to get back in the team and stay there."
