Jussi Jaaskelainen is preparing to return to the West Ham United first team for their FA Cup tie at West Bromwich Albion.
Adrian faces suspension for the tie after being sent off against Southampton.
"It's been a long time," said Jaaskelainen. "I played the League Cup tie and then I was disappointed the manager didn't pick me for the FA Cup.
"I think this is only the second time in my career where I have come off the bench - the first time was maybe 15 years ago. I just tried to keep things calm, slow things down.
"I have been sent off four or five times in my career and you learn something from each one. I also handled the ball outside the box once.
"Now I will start preparing for Saturday's Cup tie. I have been in the FA Cup semi-final twice with Bolton."
