Jussi Jaaskelainen is set to ink his new Bolton Wanderers contract this week.

The Finnish favourite returns for training tomorrow and will complete the formalities of signing his new four-year deal.

But Al Habsi's form at the end of last season suggests 33-year-old Jaaskelainen won't necessarily be first choice.

"There's always competition not only at Bolton," said Jaaskelainen. "When you play in the top league there's going to be lots of other keepers coming in if you don't perform.

" Ali played well at the end of last season and will be more impressive. But that will bring the best out of everyone."
