Iwobi realises childhood dream after first Arsenal start

Alex Iwobi has stated that making his first Arsenal start was a dream come true for him.

19-year-old Nigerian forward Iwobi was handed his first ever start for the Gunners in their 3-1 FA Cup victory over Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday and the youngster impressed many with his confident performance.

Now Iwobi has gone on to speak regarding representing his beloved Arsenal for the first time and has stated that the experience was somewhat of a childhood dream.

The youngster said: "It is the best feeling ever. It is a dream come true. Since I was a young boy I have always wanted to put on my shirt with Iwobi on my back with the Emirates [crowd] screaming my name.

"As a young kid I always wondered if I would get there and to have this opportunity today, I'm just thankful. It was a young boy's dream come true.

"Playing at home with everyone screaming your name and giving you the confidence to express yourself - it felt like a proper debut."
