Ivory Coast progress forces Toure, Bony to miss Man City's trip to Chelsea

Manchester City will be without Yaya Toure for this weekend's top-of-the-table Premier League clash with Chelsea.

The star midfielder will miss the Stamford Bridge fixture on Saturday after helping Ivory Coast through to the quarter-finals of the 2015 African Cup of Nations.

Toure will remain in Equatorial Guinea, along with City's £28million winter signing Wilfried Bony, after the Elephants edged Cameroon 1-0 in Malabo to finish top of Group D.

Ivory Coast will now take on Algeria in the final eight on February 1 with the City pair expected to play a key part in Herve Renard's line-up despite the fact that Toure limped out of the win over Cameroon in the 82nd minute with a possible hamstring injury.
