Ivanovic very positive about season ahead for Chelsea

Branislav Ivanovic is in a very confident frame of mind after helping Chelsea to a season-opening win on Sunday.

The Serbian defender scored the Blues' first goal in their 2-0 victory at Wigan Athletic and in the wake of that result, is looking forward to what could be a very successful season for the West Londoners who have brought in some real quality in the off-season.

"We have enough players and quality to cope with all competitions. With hard work, we can make it," he said.

"The new players are great. During the pre-season, they have shown they have fantastic quality and we have changed a lot as a team because all of them are so creative. They have given us the pace we needed."

Those new players Ivanovic speaks of include Eden Hazard, who starred in his first Premier League start, and Brazilian midfielder Oscar who also looked good when he replaced the winger in the second half.
