Italy U21 coach Casiraghi praises Fulham striker Okaka

Italy U21 coach Pierluigi Casiraghi was delighted with Fulham striker Stefano Okaka after their 2-0 Euro qualifier win over Hungary.

Qualification for the European Under-21 Championships is still in the balance, though the Azzurrini have now climbed to second place with 10 points in six games.

Wales still lead with 13 points in six, while Hungary have nine points from five matches.

“We knew that we had to beat Hungary and do well in our next two games. The lads put in an extraordinary performance,” said Casiraghi.

Okaka and substitute Luca Marrone scored the goals in Rieti earlier this evening.

“In the first half we had so many scoring opportunities and risked very little at the back. With the players that were missing today, we couldn't really have asked for more than that.

“We're sorted with Okaka and Balotelli up front. They are two excellent players who can really lift up the team. They looked good in training and really impressed me.”
