Napoli's Italy hero Lorenzo Insigne took a call from Alessandro del Piero before starring in last night's win over Malta.

The Juventus icon made contact with Insigne after learning the youngster declared him his boyhood idol.

"Alex is a true gentleman," Insigne's agent, Fabio Andreotti, told Radio CRC. "A man of great humanity with style and humility.

"Alex countered the affection of Insigne with a great gesture. It was a good deed done for the benefit of a youngster such as Lorenzo."
