Italy coach Cesare Prandelli is yet to make a decision about his future beyond the World Cup.
Sacked AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has been linked with his job.
"It is no secret that I would like to return to coaching a club, but I have a great respect for the national team and we will talk," said Prandelli.
"Prior to the start of the World Cup it will become clearer.
"Max Allegri to replace me? He is a great Coach, but we have yet to decide what to do. Certainly we will do so before the World Cup."
