Italy coach Cesare Prandelli was sorry to see Fabio Capello resign from the England job.

Capello resigned on Wednesday after protesting at the FA's decision to take the captain's armband off Chelsea defender John Terry.

"I agree with Capello," Prandelli told the Secolo XIX newspaper. "If someone like him leaves three months before a competition he really cares about, then it means something is wrong, quite beyond the issue of the captain's armband.

"There was something more behind it."
