Italy coach Cesare Prandelli was satisfied with the performances of Antonio Cassano and Mario Balotelli in defeat to Ivory Coast.

Sampdoria striker Cassano and Inter Milan youngster Mario Balotelli both took the field at Upton Park with big expectations riding on their shoulders.

Prandelli said: "Cassano went pretty well. Mario was making his debut and did some interesting things. Of course with three strikers you need to work to find the balance.

"The main thing we need to improve is the quality of football, as once that is in place it raises the self-esteem and conviction of the whole side."
