Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has avoided commenting on Francesco Totti's row with AS Roma management.
Roma coach Luis Enrique's decision to drop Totti for Europa League games prompted the squad, media and fans to split into factions.
"I was fortunate enough to train Francesco, even just for a little while," said the Italy Coach.
"I know him to be an extraordinary lad who is generous with his teammates. Now it's difficult to get into this situation.
"In general, I'd say that in a project, everyone has to feel involved."
