Italy coach Prandelli: AC Milan's Cassano desperate to make Euros

Italy coach Cesare Prandelli says AC Milan striker Antonio Cassano is desperate to make the Euros.

Cassano underwent heart surgery after suffering a mini-stroke on October 29, but paid visit to the Italy squad ahead of tonight's friendly with the USA.

"Antonio came to see us and passed on all of his enthusiasm," revealed Prandelli.

"He wants to be ready for Euro 2012 and is very determined. The three months to the tournament could feel huge and could feel very brief.

"I have only one worry, that in such a tight season I'll be delivered injured players. I don't think such an intense wrestling match for the Scudetto can cause problems for the Nazionale. I know the players and realise in these situations you reach June with plenty of fuel in the tank."
