Italy coach Donadoni wants to face England

Italy coach Roberto Donadoni has hinted that he would like to play a friendly with England before the Azzurri head to Austria and Switzerland for Euro 2008.

Donadoni played for Milan under Fabio Capello and he won numerous honours including the 1994 Champions League.

There is every chance of a friendly between the two nations and Donadoni would relish the opportunity to face off against his old coach in a game which would see the master take on the apprentice.

The last time The Three Lions played Italy in a friendly was is in 2002 where the Azzurri emerged 2-1 victors at Elland Road.

"A friendly against England? It's a splendid idea, really exciting. We'll see with the help of the football associations whether it's possible. England would be a game we simply cannot resist." Donadoni told Italian channel Mediaset.
