Italy coach Antonio Conte is delighted to get an extended period with his players ahead of the Euros.
Italy will face Scotland later today.
“The daily work is certainly only happening now," said Conte.
“In these two years you saw my idea of the team and we always worked in those few days we got together. Now we have more time and I can certainly have more of an influence.
“I am working the same way I do at club level. We are above all working on a technical-tactical level, otherwise I'd pick my players based on their times running a marathon.
“We chose Malta as the venue for this friendly because many Maltese fans watch Serie A with affection and passion. We hope for a great spectacle tomorrow.
“We want to test out all the work we've done over the last few days. I haven't decided on the line-up yet, that will be tomorrow.
“We will certainly play with two strikers. I will choose the line-up that gives me the most answers and takes away a few doubts.
“We have been working on goal-scoring in training and I've been pushing them a bit harder than I did before on that. We are working to surprise."
