Italy coach Cesare Prandelli admits AS Roma captain Francesco Totti could make an international return.
Prandelli has continued to fuel speculation of Totti's recall alongside Antonio Cassano for a special November friendly.
"The idea of seeing Totti and Cassano together in the Nazionale is born of their friendship and the wonderful rapport between them.
"We wanted to create an event that could be an example for youngsters. It would be wonderful to have them together again on a football field.
"After all, in this team we are looking for quality. Over time Totti has proved his technique, but also great character."
