The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has announced that Eurovita Insurance will sponsor top-level referees in Italy for the next two seasons, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
As part of the deal, officials refereeing games in Italy's Serie A, B and Lega Pro – the top three tiers in the country's soccer pyramid - will sport the company's branding on their shirt sleeves.
Financial terms of the agreement have not been released but FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio said it would provide "significant new financial resources" for the governing body.
Reports in Italy say the FIGC will receive €1.2 million (US$1.3 million) per year under the terms of the deal.
