Italian Coaches Association happy Mancini in charge of Man City

The Italian coaches union are delighted with Roberto Mancini's appointment as new Manchester City manager.

The President of the Italian Coaches' Association (AIAC), Renzo Ulivieri, was pleased to see Mancio named City boss yesterday.

"Up until now the Italian Coaches were quite reluctant to go outside the country, as they didn't really want to leave," explained Ulivieri.

"Just 10 years ago it would've been unthinkable and nobody would've considered so many of our tacticians working around the world. It means we are sought after because it's a sign of the quality and strong school of Italian football.

"This is a global market and it's normal now. In England the Coach is also a manager, but first of all Mancini will be a trainer on the field, then he'll get to know the other aspects."
