It will be 'strange' to come up against Chelsea – Arsenal signing Cech

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech admits it will be difficult to come up against his former club.

The 33-year old moved to Arsenal on a four-year deal on Monday and could make his debut against his former club Chelsea on August 2 in the Community Shield.

Cech has revealed he would find it 'very strange' to face his ex-teammates at Wembley but will leave his friendships on the sidelines when the time comes.

"I have to say, having been with Chelsea for 11 years and having so much success and great memories, I guess it will be a very strange feeling to be on the other side," he said.

"But once you're on the pitch, you play for your team and you want to win.

"During the year you can play against friends, you can play against big friends and close friends but once you are on the pitch, this friendship goes away and you just focus on winning the game."
