Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea missed out on the Premier League's Golden Glove award on Tuesday night.
The Spaniard was on 15 clean sheets prior to the final fixture of the season against Bournemouth at Old Trafford and things were looking good for a 16th as the match ticked over into injury-time.
However, an unfortunate deflection off defender Chris Smalling denied him the chance to join Arsenal's Petr Cech on 16 shutouts as the Red Devils conceded late in their 3-1 win, prompting the following from manager Louis van Gaal.
"In the second half we played very well and it's only my irritation about the last goal because then David [De Gea would have been] the winner of the Golden Glove," he said.
"I think that he deserved it.
"It's a pity because it [the goal we conceded] was not necessary I think."
As a result of the late goal, Cech picked up his 3rd Golden Glove award having kept the most clean sheets in the league in his debut campaign with the Gunners.
Behind the Czech Republic veteran was of course De Gea, alongside Manchester City's Joe Hart and Leicester City's title-winning keeper Kasper Schmeichel, all on 15.
