Chelsea starlet Patrick Bamford produced a stellar season on loan at Middlesbrough last season, and was tipped by many for a breakout campaign in 2015/16 after a loan move to Crystal Palace.
However, the youngster watched the entirety of Palace's opening day clash with Norwich City from the bench, however, as Alan Pardrew's men won 3-1 to kickstart their season.
While a loan move is generally used to give a young player first-team opportunities, Bamford must surely be wondering how many chances he will get at Palace, given he sat on the bench as Glenn Murray started and was later replaced by Connor Wickham.
It will be interesting to see how long the talented Bamford will put up with riding the bench at Selhurst Park, given he is now 21 and must surely expect to be playing first team football in the Premier League.
Notwithstanding, the game went as planned for Pardew's men indicating Bamford will certainly get chances as the season progresses when the Eagles need to call on his services. The youngster also appeared to be happy to be a part of the win.
Great win from the lads today! Fans were something else #eagles
