It's important players like Kruse seize their moment - Leverkusen boss Hyypia

Bayer Leverkusen manager Sami Hyypia is enjoying the fact that his squad are stepping up to the plate whenever they are asked to do a job.

Leverkusen beat Hannover 96 2-0 on the weekend to remain third on the Bundesliga table and the boss was thrilled that again his playing group were able to come up with a winning performance.

Hyypia touched on the two-goal showing of Robbie Kruse in his first start in last weekend's win over Mainz as the level his players need to be at to have a well-oiled rotating machine after he replaced the Australian with South Korea's Son Heung-min on Saturday.

"Of course it's really important. Robbie Kruse's performance against Mainz 05 is a good example of that," he told Bundesliga.com.

"He took his chances and made a good case to start more games. It's important the players know where they're at. They can show what they're able to do and have the possibility to seize their moment."

Simon Rolfes and Sidney Sam netted first-half goals as Leverkusen clinched their sixth win from seven league outings so far this season.
