Bayer Leverkusen manager Sami Hyypia is enjoying the fact that his squad are stepping up to the plate whenever they are asked to do a job.
Leverkusen beat Hannover 96 2-0 on the weekend to remain third on the Bundesliga table and the boss was thrilled that again his playing group were able to come up with a winning performance.
Hyypia touched on the two-goal showing of Robbie Kruse in his first start in last weekend’s win over Mainz as the level his players need to be at to have a well-oiled rotating machine after he replaced the Australian with South Korea’s Son Heung-min on Saturday.
“Of course it’s really important. Robbie Kruse’s performance against Mainz 05 is a good example of that,” he told Bundesliga.com.
“He took his chances and made a good case to start more games. It’s important the players know where they’re at. They can show what they’re able to do and have the possibility to seize their moment.”
