It's 'huge' for Newcastle to be back in Europe - Krul

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has labeled it a 'huge' achievement for the club to be back in European football.

The Magpies, who were winning the Championship title in 2010, will play in the Europa League if they finish in the top six after Liverpool denied Everton a path through to the FA Cup final on the weekend.

A Champions League spot is still up for grabs for Newcastle if they can stay in fourth position but short of that, Krul is already excited about being involved in Europe.

"What an opportunity we have got - things are going great at the moment," he told The Journal.

"I have been saying for years that I think Newcastle are a top-six side and maybe people didn't see it. But now we are there, and hopefully we can stay there.

"Liverpool's win was great news for us and it is huge for the club to be back in Europe."
