LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan believes the Great Britain football team made an error in not selecting David Beckham for the Olympics.
The 37-year old midfielder was left out of Stuart Pearce's squad for this summer's Games, which kick off on the weekend, and Donovan suggests his omission was a glaring one as the former England skipper is in great form at the moment.
"David has been playing great and can still do it," Donovan said.
"It's a shame he's not going to London to play.
"He's been terrific just recently and I think most teams in the world would want a guy like that on their side in the form he's in right now."
